Blue Springs is one of my favorite springs to dive since I was a kid. Located in Orange City Florida and only 15 minutes from our shop. Blue Springs is home of the second largest population of manatees in Florida. (no interaction here)  This is a magnitude one spring, flowing almost 104 million gallons of water daily. The largest spring on the St Johns River. The depth of the main spring is around 116 feet the river run is around 5 to 7 feet depending on the water level. The water temp is a constant 72.5 degrees. Visibility is around 200 feet most of the time.

The marine life is sparse  in the spring itself, because of the low O2 levels. The river run itself host a varity of fish and wildlife. We have seen manatees, 1000’s of fish and a varity of species. Pop your head above water from time to time and we have seen gators in and out of the water (no problems)  bear, deer, pigs and wild turkeys.

They have a nice walk trail, if you decide to stay after your dive.
